Dina Mashayekhi articled at the Superior Court of Justice and practiced with another union-side labour and employment firm before joining Jewitt McLuckie & Associates in 2007.
Dina obtained her LL.B (cum laude) from the University of Ottawa in 2005 and a B.A. Hons. (gold medalist) in both Media, Information and Technoculture and Women’s Studies from the University of Western Ontario. During law school, Dina was a research assistant at the Canadian Internet Policy and Public Interest Centre and spent a summer at the Electronic Privacy Information Center in Washington, DC. She was also the recipient of the Legal Aid Ontario Award at graduation.
Dina’s labour practice includes representing a wide range of municipal public sector workers and other unionized employees. She has also represented paramedics who have been faced with deactivation and Ministry investigations. Her employment practice includes reviewing employment contracts and wrongful dismissal litigation as well as human rights complaints.
Dina has appeared before various Arbitration Boards in Ottawa and Durham, the HRTO and the Superior Court. She has also assisted with a coroner’s inquest.
Dina has a particular interest in both human rights and privacy issues. She has also presented various seminars on the human rights and labour matters.
